Softball Recap: Clovis Comes Up Short

Clovis was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They lost 17-6 to the Goddard Rockets. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Rockets this season, with their most recent defeat being a 21-9 loss back in March.

Madysen Cushing was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and one double. Those RBI marked the first that she brought in this season. Amor Soto was another key player, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 2-for-2.

Clovis' defeat dropped their record down to 1-12. As for Goddard, their win ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 10-6.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Rockets beat Clovis by a score of 16-1 later that day.
