Recap: Lowndes Academy Rebels vs. Edgewood Academy Wildcats
The Lowndes Academy Rebels's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They fell 48-36 to Edgewood Academy. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Lowndes Academy in their matchups with Edgewood Academy: they've now lost eight in a row.
Edgewood Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Lindsey Brown out in front who scored 22 points along with five steals. The matchup was Brown's eighth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Avery White, who scored 11 points along with five steals.
Lowndes Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Edgewood Academy, their win was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lowndes Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Sparta Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 2, 2024. As for Edgewood Academy, they will be playing at home against Fort Dale Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
