Soccer Game Preview: Pickens vs. Travelers Rest

Pickens is 0-7 against Travelers Rest since March of 2017 but things could change on Tuesday. The Blue Flame will square off against the Devildogs at 6:00 p.m. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Pickens and Seneca, and Seneca kept the tradition alive. The Blue Flame came up short against the Bobcats on Friday, falling 4-1. The match was up for grabs at halftime, but sadly Pickens struggled afterwards.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Travelers Rest, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They skirted past Berea 1-0. Travelers Rest's winning goal came courtesy of Marietta Sicurella.

Travelers Rest moved to 2-7 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Pickens, they now have a losing record of 4-5.

Pickens might still be hurting after the 8-0 defeat they got from Travelers Rest when the teams last played back in April of 2022. Can the Blue Flame avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
