Basketball Game Recap: Wolverine Wildcats vs. Ellsworth Lancers

The Wolverine Wildcats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They lost to Ellsworth on the road by a decisive 63-47 margin. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Wolverine of the 78-57 loss they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2023.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Ellsworth to victory, but perhaps none more so than Patrick Puroll, who dropped a double-double on 29 points and ten steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Cameron Snyder, who scored 23 points.

Wolverine's loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Ellsworth, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-9.

Wolverine will head out on the road to square off against the Comets at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Ellsworth, they will be playing at home against the Loggers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Boyne Falls is no doubt hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
