Basketball Recap: Champaign Central Comes Up Short

Champaign Central was the 51-36 winner over Teutopolis when they last played one another back in February of 2019, but their luck changed this time around. The Champaign Central Maroons fell just short of the Teutopolis Wooden Shoes by a score of 54-51 on Saturday. The Maroons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

When it comes to explaining why Champaign Central lost, don't look at Chris Bush. Despite the final result, he went 6 for 10 on his way to 13 points. Aidyn Beck was another key player, going 6 of 15 en route to 13 points.

Champaign Central's loss dropped their record down to 12-8. As for Teutopolis, their victory bumped their record up to 14-7.

Champaign Central is taking a road trip to face off against MacArthur at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Champaign Central is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.7 points per game this season. As for Teutopolis, they will welcome Mt. Zion at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
