Softball Recap: Millsap Comes Up Short

Millsap extended their losing streak to five on Tuesday, dropping them down to 3-14. They lost 32-15 to the Eastland Mavericks. If the Bulldogs were looking for revenge after losing 15-2 to the Mavericks when the teams met back in April of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for Eastland, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-6. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

For Eastland's part, Lauryne Hobbs was a standout: she fired off two home runs, five runs, and six RBI while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances. That's the most RBI Hobbs has posted since back in February. Julissa Carrizales was another key player, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with five runs, two triples, and five RBI.

Coming up, Millsap will look to defend their home field on Friday against Early at 5:00 p.m. The Longhorns' pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so the Bulldogs' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Eastland, they are taking a road trip to square off against Peaster at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Mavericks will need to watch out since the Greyhounds have now posted at least ten runs in their last four contests.
