Football Recap: Cortez Takes a Loss + How To Watch

After soaring to 50 points the game before, Cortez was a bit more limited in their game on Friday. They were dealt a 48-6 defeat at the hands of the Camp Verde Cowboys. The loss continues a trend for the Colts in their meetings with the Cowboys: they've now lost four in a row.

Brayden Walsworth continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Camp Verde, rushing for 105 yards and two scores, while also throwing for 191 yards and four TDs. Those 105 rushing yards gave Walsworth a new career-high. Justin Smith also helped out as he racked up 143 rushing yards.

Cortez's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Camp Verde, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 5-1.

Cortez has already played their next contest, a 56-8 loss against Scottsdale Christian Academy on the 3rd. As for Camp Verde, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 55-20 victory against Holbrook on the 3rd.
