Recap: Mount Vernon Mustangs vs. Galloway Scots

In what's become a running theme this season, the Mount Vernon Mustangs gave their fans yet another huge victory on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 72-50 margin over Galloway. Given Mount Vernon's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 47th, while Galloway is ranked 410th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Kj Garris continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 20 points. He hasn't dropped below 15points for three straight games. Pace Bottoms was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.

Several Scots players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ryan Levin, who scored ten points along with six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Grant Patrick, who scored 11 points.

Galloway struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only an offensive rebound. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Mount Vernon pulled down eight offensive rebounds.

Mount Vernon's victory was their 13th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-8. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.3 points per game. As for Galloway, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-15.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mount Vernon will take on Paideia at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Galloway, they will be playing at home against Atlanta International at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
