Baseball Game Preview: West Creek Coyote vs. Stewart County Rebels

The West Creek Coyote will head out to face off against the Stewart County Rebels at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. West Creek is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9 runs per game this season.

Last Thursday, West Creek made easy work of Jo Byrns and carried off a 13-2 victory.

Donte Castro was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in stolen bases. Another player making a difference was Julio Perez, who scored three runs and stole Three bases. while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Stewart County's offense. They came up short against Gibson County on Friday, falling 8-0. The match marked the first time this season in which the Rebels were not able to get on the board.

Stewart County's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for West Creek, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

West Creek might still be hurting after the 16-10 defeat they got from Stewart County in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can West Creek avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
