Basketball Recap: Premont Comes Up Short

Premont was the 46-44 winner over Odem when they last played one another back in December of 2021, but their luck changed this time around. The Premont Cowboys took a 31-23 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Odem Owls on Friday. The Cowboys have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Odem's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Harper Dredla, who went 5 of 12 en route to 13 points and three steals. Dredla is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Aliana Montez, who posted ten points and three steals.

Premont's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Odem, with the win, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 7-12.

Premont wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 60-10 loss against Refugio on the 28th. As for Odem, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 29-8 victory against Kaufer on the 27th.
