Volleyball Recap: DMLK Finds Home Court Redemption Against Rocky Mountain Prep SMART

There's no place like home for DMLK, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Monday. They came out on top against the Rocky Mountain Prep SMART Ocelotls by a score of 3-1 on Wednesday. The win was some much needed relief for the Panthers as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

DMLK had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 18-25, 25-16, 25-19, 25-21.

Esquire Coleman paced DMLK's offense, picking up seven kills. Coleman got some help from Matthew Mantilla-Riera and his nine assists. Coleman was also solid from the service line: he led the team with three aces.

DMLK's victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 3-4. As for Rocky Mountain Prep SMART, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-10.

Looking ahead, DMLK is taking a road trip to square off against Stargate School at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Rocky Mountain Prep SMART, they will be playing in front of their home fans against KIPP Denver Collegiate at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
