Football Game Preview: Tri-County Academy Rebels vs. St. Joseph Catholic Bruins

The Tri-County Academy Rebels will venture away from home to square off against the St. Joseph Catholic Bruins at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Tri-County Academy has three straight wins, St. Joseph Catholic has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

On Friday, everything came up roses for Tri-County Academy against Wayne Academy as the team secured a 38-7 victory. The Rebels' offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.

Meanwhile, St. Joseph Catholic lost 52-27 to Bayou Academy on Friday.

Tri-County Academy will have to contain Syrone McBeath as he made an impact in St. Joseph Catholic's last game. He rushed for 234 yards and two TDs while picking up 12.3 yards per carry, and also picked up 45 receiving yards. With that strong performance, McBeath is now averaging an impressive 117.7 rushing yards per game. Riley Bianchini also helped out with an impressive 83 receiving yards.

Tri-County Academy's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for St. Joseph Catholic, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-5.

Tri-County Academy beat St. Joseph Catholic 39-26 when the teams last played back in September of 2022. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Bruins' Carter Walker, who picked up 133 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns. Now that he won't be playing on Friday, will it be easier for the Rebels to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
