Lower Richland and Crestwood are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2017, but not for long. The Lower Richland Diamond Hornets will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Crestwood Knights at 6:00 p.m. Lower Richland will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak.
Last Friday, Lower Richland didn't have too much trouble with Darlington as they won 53-35. Given the Diamond Hornets' advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked fifth, while the Falcons are ranked 72nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lower Richland to victory, but perhaps none more so than Chi?Nya Isaac, who went 5 for 8 en route to 13 points in addition to five assists and three steals. Isaac is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Mikayla Foster was another key player, going 6 of 10 on her way to 13 points and four steals.
Meanwhile, Crestwood came up short against Woodmont last Saturday and fell 44-34.
Lower Richland will need focus on slowing down Saniya Williams, one of several Crestwood players who made an impact when they last played. She posted 15 points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of London Vaughn, who scored 14 points and four steals.
Even though they lost, Crestwood smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in eight consecutive matchups.
Lower Richland pushed their record up to 17-1 with the victory, which was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 31.9 points. As for Crestwood, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-10.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Lower Richland has been crashing the rebounds this season, having averaged 29.4 boards per game. However, it's not like Crestwood struggles in that department as they've been averaging 31.1 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Everything came up roses for Lower Richland against Crestwood in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, as the team secured a 62-17 win. In that contest, Lower Richland amassed a halftime lead of 37-12, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Tuesday.
