Tri-County RVT and Bristol-Plymouth RVT are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2018, but likely not for long. The Cougars will face off against the Craftsmen at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Tri-County RVT's pitching crew has only allowed 2.4 runs per game this season, so Bristol-Plymouth RVT's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Tri-County RVT came out on top against Diman RVT on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run seventh inning. The Cougars walked away with a 9-6 win over the Bengals. The victory continues a trend for the Cougars in their matchups with the Bengals: they've now won five in a row.
Meanwhile, after only one run in their last match, Bristol-Plymouth RVT made sure to put some runs up on the board against Upper Cape Cod RVT on Thursday. The Craftsmen blew past the Rams 19-1. Considering the Craftsmen have won nine contests by more than nine runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Gabrianna Arrighi spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up 19 Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than 11 strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Izzy Torres and Shelby Estrella did most of the damage at the plate: Torres went 3-for-5 with one home run and two RBI, while Estrella got on base in four of her six plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Molly Clark, who got on base in four of her six plate appearances with four runs and two RBI.
Bristol-Plymouth RVT always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .596. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Upper Cape Cod RVT only posted an OBP of .160.
The win made it two in a row for Bristol-Plymouth RVT and bumps their season record up to 10-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 1 runs in those games. As for Tri-County RVT, their record is now 7-1.
Tri-County RVT came out on top in a nail-biter against Bristol-Plymouth RVT in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, sneaking past 8-6. Do the Cougars have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Craftsmen turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
