Baseball Recap: Fennville Blackhawks vs. Black River Rats
Fennville won the last time they faced Black River and things went their way on Monday too. The Blackhawks skirted past the Rats 4-2.
Isaiah Peoples made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.
Peoples wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Zach Onken, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.
