Basketball Recap: Richards Drops Season-High Score on Horizon Science Academy-Southwest

Richards was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the Horizon Science Academy-Southwest Huskies, falling 44-24. One positive for the Warriors, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Horizon Science Academy-Southwest to victory, but perhaps none more so than Mariah Horne, who posted 14 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Horne is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last five games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Aislin Vazquez, who put up 13 points.

Richards' loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Horizon Science Academy-Southwest, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-4.

Richards will take on Harlan in a holiday battle at at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Horizon Science Academy-Southwest and Bowen will compete for holiday cheer at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Both have allowed few points on average, (Bowen: 12, Horizon Science Academy-Southwest: 29.4) so any points scored will be well earned.
