Basketball Recap: Deerfield Comes Up Short

Deerfield lost against Ingalls back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Deerfield Spartans took a blow against the Ingalls Bulldogs, falling 50-21. The Spartans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Ingalls found their leader in sophomore Jill Schmeeckle, who went 6 of 12 en route to 14 points along with seven steals and six boards. That's the most steals Schmeeckle has posted since back in December of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Jennasey Stoudemire, who went 6 of 14 on her way to 16 points and six rebounds.

Deerfield now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Ingalls, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.

Deerfield will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Moscow at 6:00 p.m. on December 19th. Ingalls will take on Ashland in a holiday battle at TBD on December 17th at.
