While Gates County put up plenty of runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for North East Carolina Prep. The Red Barons put the hurt on the Husky with a sharp 11-0 win. The Red Barons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by 11 runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Kamryn Riddick, who scored a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Ava Turner was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base.

Gates County hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are 4-1 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Gates County now has a winning record of 7-6. As for North East Carolina Prep, they dropped their record down to 3-7 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Gates County beat the Husky by a score of 13-2 on Friday.
