Volleyball Recap: West Clermont Wolves vs. Turpin Spartans
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Anderson, West Clermont was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Turpin Spartans with a sharp 3-0 win. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Wolves as it put an end to their five-game losing streak.
West Clermont never let Turpin on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. The final score came out to 25-11, 25-20, 28-26.
Trent Cottrell paced West Clermont's offense, picking up ten kills. Cottrell got some help from Jordan Michael Pack and his 16 assists. Cottrell was also solid from the service line: he led the team with four aces.
West Clermont's win bumped their record up to 4-17. As for Turpin, they dropped their record down to 0-12 with the loss, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.
Looking ahead, West Clermont will challenge La Salle at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Wolves are facing the Lancers at the right time seeing as the Lancers are stuck on a four-game losing streak. Turpin does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
