Basketball Recap: Michael White Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Bryan

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Creighton Prep, Burke was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They put the hurt on the Bryan Bears with a sharp 69-49 victory. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Bulldogs considering their 25-point performance the matchup before.

Burke's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Michael White, who shot 80% from the field on his way to 17 points in addition to six rebounds and four blocks. White's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Rummel, who posted eight points along with nine boards and three steals.

Burke was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bryan only seven assists.

Bryan's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Deon Darnell, who had 18 points. Kaleb Kimble was another key player, putting up six points and three steals.

Burke's victory bumped their record up to 10-15. As for Bryan, they are on a 25-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-24.

Burke has already played their next game, a 57-48 defeat against Lincoln North Star on the 1st. Bryan does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
