Bessemer Academy picks up fifth straight win on the road

Recap: Bessemer Academy Rebels vs. Clarke Prep Gators

The Bessemer Academy Rebels posted their biggest win since November 28, 2023 on Friday. They blew past Clarke Prep 51-31. Despite the victory, that was the fewest points Bessemer Academy has scored all season.

Bessemer Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kane Burns, who scored nine points along with four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyseon Smith, who scored six points along with four steals.

Bessemer Academy pushed their record up to 13-1 with that win, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Clarke Prep, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bessemer Academy won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Lee-Scott Academy at 4:00 p.m. on January 13th. Lee-Scott Academy is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. As for Clarke Prep, they the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Morgan Academy at 5:00 p.m. on January 15th. Hopefully Morgan Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 25 last Tuesday.
