Basketball Recap: Gilbert Indians vs. Gray Collegiate Academy War Eagles
Gilbert was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They were beaten by the Gray Collegiate Academy War Eagles 74-47. While losing is never fun, the Indians can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 237th, while the War Eagles are ranked 18th).
Despite the loss, Gilbert saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Tyzai Smith posted ten points. Trevon Williamson was another key player, putting up seven points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Gray Collegiate Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Justin Richburg, who went 6-for-15 on his way to 14 points and six rebounds.
