Baseball Recap: Coosa Christian Sets Scoring Season-High Against Sumiton Christian

Coosa Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss dating back to last season. They fell 9-6 to the Sumiton Christian Eagles. One positive for the Conquerors, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Angelo Alberghina and Jd Justus stepped up to the plate in a big way. Alberghina scored a run and stole two bases while going 3-for-4, while Justus scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. That's the most runs Justus has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Cameron Robertson, who scored a run while going 1-for-4.

Even though they lost, Coosa Christian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .316 or higher in three consecutive games.

Coosa Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Sumiton Christian, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Coming up, Coosa Christian will challenge Southside at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Sumiton Christian, they will face off against Corner at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
