Football Recap: St. Paul Cardinals vs. Rosehill Christian Eagles

St. Paul extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 4-5. They fell 24-13 to the Rosehill Christian Eagles. The Cardinals were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2024.

As for Rosehill Christian, their victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-3. The road wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 11.2 points on average over those games.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Caleb Davila and Benjamin Moore. Davila rushed for 203 yards while picking up 10.7 yards per carry while Moore gained 82 total yards and two touchdowns. Those 203 rushing yards gave Davila a new career-high.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. St. Paul is set to take on their familiar foe Central Texas Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Rosehill Christian will square off against rival Brazos Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
