It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Spruce Creek ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They walked away with a 78-70 victory over the New Smyrna Beach Barracudas. Winning may never get old, but the Hawks sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

New Smyrna Beach's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mikey Steward, who went 7 for 11 on his way to 18 points and four steals. Tyler Mcknight was another key player, going 8 of 17 en route to 20 points.

Spruce Creek's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-6. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.3 points per game. As for New Smyrna Beach, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-6 record this season.

Spruce Creek has already played their next contest, a 70-54 victory against Palatka on the 18th. As for New Smyrna Beach, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 72-71 win against Pine Ridge on the 18th.
