Basketball Game Preview: Cedar Bluff Tigers vs. Spring Garden Panthers

Cedar Bluff is 0-10 against Spring Garden since December of 2021 but things could change on Monday. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Cedar Bluff Tigers duke it out with the Spring Garden Panthers at 6:00 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Cedar Bluff took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They managed a 52-47 victory over Hokes Bluff.

Meanwhile, Spring Garden entered their tilt with North Sand Mountain on Thursday with 12 consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with 13. They secured a 50-45 W over the Bison. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked ninth, while the Bison are ranked 51st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Spring Garden's win was their 16th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 28-1. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.8 points per game. As for Cedar Bluff, their victory bumped their record up to 11-8.

Cedar Bluff was dealt a bruising 65-24 loss at the hands of Spring Garden in their previous matchup last Friday. Can Cedar Bluff avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
