Preview: Georgetown G-Men vs. East Clinton Astros
After four games on the road, Georgetown is heading back home. They will take on the East Clinton Astros at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Georgetown fought the good fight in their overtime match against Bethel-Tate on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 61-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tigers.
Despite the defeat, Georgetown saw an underclassman step up: Morgan Preston dropped a double-double on 18 points and 14 rebounds. Josie Mckibben was another key contributor, scoring six points along with five steals.
Meanwhile, East Clinton's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They suffered a rough 55-34 loss at the hands of Clermont Northeastern. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss East Clinton has suffered against Clermont Northeastern since January 14, 2021.
Georgetown's defeat dropped their record down to 8-7. As for East Clinton, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost 11 of their last 12 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-14 record this season.
Georgetown strolled past East Clinton when the teams last played back in December of 2023 by a score of 37-21. Will Georgetown repeat their success, or does East Clinton have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
