Soccer Recap: Oswego Gets Big Win over Higher-Ranked Zion-Benton

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Minooka, Oswego was happy to have turned things around on Sunday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Zion-Benton Zee-Bees a 3-0 shutout. The victory was all the more spectacular given Oswego's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 120th, while Zion-Benton are ranked 33rd).

Oswego now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Zion-Benton, their loss dropped their record down to 9-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Oswego will welcome Plainfield East at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Zion-Benton, they will face off against Libertyville at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday.
