Volleyball Recap: Winside Takes a Loss

It was a proper cat-fight when Winside faced off against Howells-Dodge on Saturday. The Wildcats fell 2-0 to the Jaguars. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wildcats of the 2-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2024.

The match finished with set scores of 25-10, 25-13.

Aftyn Schutt paced Winside's offense, picking up five kills. Schutt got some help from Raylyn Behmer and her eight assists. Ellie Topp controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Winside's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Howells-Dodge, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Winside has already played their next game, a 2-0 win against Hartington-Newcastle on the 30th. As for Howells-Dodge, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Randolph on the 30th.
