Lufkin came tearing into Tuesday's contest with nine straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.6 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 5-2 victory over the Texas Tigers. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Panthers also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2016.

Lufkin's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-3. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Texas, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 13-6-1.

Coming up, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Lufkin Panthers face off against Mt. Pleasant Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Mt. Pleasant will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last. As for Texas, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Whitehouse at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Texas' pitchers better be ready for this one: Whitehouse has averaged an impressive 9.7 runs per game this season.
