Preview: Curlew Cougars vs. Oroville Hornets

Curlew has been on the road for two straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will be home for the holidays to greet the Oroville Hornets at 7:30 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 77-38, which was the final score in Curlew's tilt against Republic on Tuesday.

Curlew's defeat came about despite a quality game from Evan Olson, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 12 rebounds. That's the first time this season that Olson pulled down eight or more rebounds. Logan Thompson was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with seven rebounds.

Meanwhile, Oroville suffered a rough 67-44 loss at the hands of Bridgeport on Monday. While losing is never fun, Oroville can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 289th, while Bridgeport is ranked 41st).

Curlew bumped their record down to 2-5 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Oroville, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.

Curlew beat Oroville 58-48 in their previous matchup two weeks ago. Will Curlew repeat their success, or does Oroville have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
