Baseball Game Preview: Forest Bearcats vs. Greene County Wildcats

The Forest Bearcats will face off against the Greene County Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Forest has now lost seven straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since March 28.

It was a proper cat-fight when Forest took on Sebastopol on Tuesday. The Bearcats fell just short of the Bobcats by a score of 17-16. Even if the Bearcats couldn't come away with the win, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.

Chandler Perkins was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring four runs while going 3-for-5. He is becoming a predictor of Forest's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 3-1 (and 3-18 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Pablo Morales, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 11 runs the game before, Greene County was a bit more limited in their game on Monday. They came up short against West Jones, falling 12-1.

Greene County saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Noah McLeod, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-2.

Forest's loss dropped their record down to 6-19. As for Greene County, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 18-11 record this season.
