Basketball Recap: First Baptist Academy's Victory on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Five

First Baptist Academy had won four straight games and Jayden Petit did his part to make it five on Monday. The First Baptist Academy Lions strolled past the Bell Creek Academy Panthers with points to spare, taking the game 70-51 thanks in part to Petit, who dropped a double-double with 23 points and 13 boards. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 17.5 points per game.

Several Panthers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Lyrique Sartin, who posted 17 points in addition to six rebounds and five assists. Sartin's evening made it 27 games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. Josiah Payne was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with ten points and nine boards.

First Baptist Academy's victory bumped their record up to 27-2. As for Bell Creek Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 17-11.

Coming up, First Baptist Academy will face off against Sports Leadership & Management at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Sports Leadership & Management is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.3 points per game this season. Bell Creek Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
