Football Recap: Tough Loss for Springfield

Springfield came into this one having lost three straight on the road dating back to last season. They went ahead and made it four, dropping their record to 2-3 in the process. They had to suffer through a 57-14 loss at the hands of the Whitmer Panthers. The Blue Devils were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-7.

As for Whitmer, they have been on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 15 games, dating back to last year. That gives them a 4-1 record this season. The result was nothing new for Whitmer, who have now won three contests by 31 points or more so far this season.

Whitmer found their leader in sophomore Titus Richardson, who picked up 45 receiving yards and a pair of TDs, and also punched in 1 score on the ground. Carter Born was another key player, throwing for 110 yards and 3 touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes.

Springfield and Whitmer will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Blue Devils are set to face off against their familiar foe Bowling Green at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Whitmer will square off against their in-conference opponent Anthony Wayne at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
