While Kirbyville didn't have the best season last year (they finished 11-21), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They put the hurt on the Deweyville Pirates with a sharp 3-0 win on Friday. The Wildcats not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since August 12th (when they won 3-0).

Kirbyville walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the third set). The final score came out to 25-17, 25-19, 25-12.

Kirbyville has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. As for Deweyville, they are on a 12-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-9.

Coming up, Kirbyville will take on Hemphill in a tournament on Saturday. As for Deweyville, they will be playing at home against Warren at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
