Volleyball Recap: Calvary Christian Comes Up Short + How To Watch

If Calvary Christian was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Sherwood Christian Academy last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Knights fell just short of the Brookstone Cougars by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cougars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 on September 4th.

Calvary Christian took Brookstone into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking four-point loss. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 20-25, 25-16, 25-16, 18-25, 15-11.

Despite the loss, Calvary Christian still got an impressive performance from Josie Blake, who had nine digs and four aces. With that strong performance, Blake is now averaging an impressive 2 aces per game.

Calvary Christian's loss dropped their record down to 19-4. As for Brookstone, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-6 record this season.

Coincidentally, Calvary Christian and Brookstone will both be playing Glenwood the next time they take the court. The Knights will head out to face the Gators at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Cougars will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
