Baseball Recap: Desert Hills Continues Home Dominance on Friday

While Desert Hills's win against Crimson Cliffs wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Thunder sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 11-10 victory over the Mustangs on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Thunder have posted since March 11th.

Andrew Wilson was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Harmon Skeen was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted over his last four matches. Isaac Swanson also deserves some recognition as he launched his first home run of the season.

Desert Hills' victory was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 16-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Crimson Cliffs, they moved to 10-5 with that loss, which also ended their five-game winning streak.

Desert Hills will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Mustangs: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
