Football Game Preview: San Jon/Grady vs. Springer/Maxwell

San Jon/Grady may have come out ahead in their last match, but they shouldn't get too cocky given who is up next. On Friday they take on Springer/Maxwell at 4:00 PM. Springer/Maxwell will need to watch out since San Jon/Grady have now posted big point totals in their last three contests.

You're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out between San Jon/Grady and Roy/Mosquero. San Jon/Grady made easy work of Roy/Mosquero last Friday and carried off a 55-24 victory. San Jon/Grady were expected to win, but the margin was definitely larger than the state rankings had forecast.

Meanwhile, Springer/Maxwell faced Animas in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Springer/Maxwell were completely outmatched, falling 6-58 to Animas. The low total for Springer/Maxwell limited their streak of high-flying scores to 4 in a row.

San Jon/Grady's win lifted them to 3-1 while Springer/Maxwell's loss dropped them down to 3-2. We'll find out if San Jon/Grady can add another positive mark to their record or if Springer/Maxwell can shake off the loss and take the spring out of San Jon/Grady's step.
