Recap: Brooke Point Black Hawks vs. Riverbend Bears
The Brooke Point Black Hawks suffered their biggest loss since December 1, 2023 on Friday. They suffered a tough 69-43 loss at the hands of Riverbend. Brooke Point has not had much luck with Riverbend recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Brooke Point lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Chloe Williams, who scored 13 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Williams has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Antoinette Sanusi, who scored ten points.
Hannah Alexander was her usual excellent self, scoring 19 points along with six rebounds and three steals for Riverbend. Alexander hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games. Another player making a difference was Charlotte Mullinax, who scored ten points along with five assists and two steals.
Brooke Point has not been sharp recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-9 record this season. As for Riverbend, their win was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Brooke Point will take on North Stafford at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully North Stafford focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Thursday. As for Riverbend, they will be playing at home against Massaponax at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Massaponax is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
