Baseball Recap: Cameron Extends Winning Streak to Three

Cameron had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They skirted past the Catholic Central Crusaders 5-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Dragons have posted since April 15th.

Zayde Long was incredible, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with six stolen bases and one run. Those six stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kason Angel, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.

Cameron's win bumped their record up to 20-5. As for Catholic Central, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cameron will welcome Madonna at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Dragons' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Blue Dons have averaged an impressive 6.3 runs per game this season. As for Catholic Central, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Monroe Central at 5:00 p.m.
