Softball Recap: Kirtland Central Broncos vs. Gallup Bengals
Kirtland Central suffered their closest loss since March 27th on Thursday. They fell just short of the Gallup Bengals by a score of 12-10. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bengals this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-9 last Thursday.
Kirtland Central got a massive performance out of Tanisha Thomas, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-3. Another player making a difference was Easton Myhers, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-5.
Kirtland Central's defeat dropped their record down to 9-11. As for Gallup, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 8-7.
Coming up, Kirtland Central is taking a road trip to take on Aztec at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Broncos' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Tigers have averaged an impressive 8.7 runs per game this season. As for Gallup, they will welcome Shiprock at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Chieftains have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.38 runs per game on average), something the Bengals will no doubt try to take advantage of.
