It may have taken double overtime to finish the job, but Fairmont ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Wayne Warriors 55-53. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Firebirds.

Wayne's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dontay Chivers, who posted 15 points along with seven boards and six steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Myles Perkins, who went 6 of 12 on his way to 16 points and five rebounds.

The victory got Fairmont back to even at 2-2. As for Wayne, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 2-1.

Fairmont didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 53-48 win against Springboro on the 13th. As for Wayne, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 66-56 loss against Miamisburg on the 13th.
