Football Recap: Athens Christian Comes Up Short

Athens Christian had lost five straight at home dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 3-4 to make it six. They fell 17-11 to the Bethlehem Christian Academy Knights. The Eagles lost against the Knights in their previous head to head back in September of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 33-0 score last time.

As for Bethlehem Christian Academy, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 28.8 points over those games.

Bethlehem Christian Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sian John, who picked up 105 receiving yards and one TD. Another passer making a difference was Harrison Goodwin, who threw for 213 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Athens Christian wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 52-23 victory against The King's Academy on the 3rd. As for Bethlehem Christian Academy, they have also already played their next game, a 29-22 win against Lakeview Academy on the 3rd.
