Recap: Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin Blue Devils vs. Prairie Central Hawks
It was a good run, but the Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin Blue Devils unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Saturday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 54-53 to Prairie Central. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin has scored all season.
Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Micah Stanford, who scored 12 points along with five assists. Another player making a difference was Ayden Ingram, who scored ten points.
Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Prairie Central pulled down 18 offensive rebounds.
Tyler Curl was his usual excellent self, shooting 5-for-8 from downtown and dropping a double-double on 23 points and 12 rebounds for Prairie Central. Gage Steidinger was another key contributor, scoring five points along with eight rebounds.
Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin's loss dropped their record down to 7-2. As for Prairie Central, their victory was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin is on the road again on Tuesday and play against Oakwood at 3:30 p.m. on December 12th. Oakwood will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings (they are ranked 295th, while Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin is ranked 87th). As for Prairie Central, they will head out on the road to face off against Normal University at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
