Basketball Recap: Lutheran West Find Success

Lutheran West won the last time they faced Beachwood and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Lutheran West Longhorns sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 27-24 win over the Beachwood Bison. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Longhorns as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Beachwood lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Goldi Aschkenasy, who posted two points in addition to 11 rebounds and seven blocks. Aschkenasy has been hot for a while, having posted two or more blocks the last nine times she's played. Another player making a difference was Zo? Walters, who had 11 points and seven boards.

Lutheran West's win bumped their record up to 7-10. As for Beachwood, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-7 record this season.

Lutheran West has already played their next game (against Brooklyn), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Beachwood didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 57-50 victory against Cleveland Central Catholic on the 25th.
