Baseball Recap: Nyssa Comes Up Short

Nyssa was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 26th straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the Ontario Tigers, falling 20-8. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 9-8 two weeks ago.

Tanner Beck made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Marcus Nunez was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

Nyssa's record now sits at 0-12. As for Ontario, with the win, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-12.

Looking ahead, Nyssa will take on Umatilla at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. The Vikings have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.28 runs per game on average), something the Bulldogs will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Ontario, they will face off against Baker/Powder Valley at 2:00 p.m. on Friday.
