Basketball Game Preview: Crawford Colts vs. Kearny Komets

The Crawford Colts will face off against the Kearny Komets at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Kearny will be up against a hot Crawford team: the squad just extended their winning streak to four. Crawford walked away with a 60-47 victory over Morse on Tuesday.

Crawford's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Yasir Abdurahman led the charge by shooting 4-for-7 from deep and dropping a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds. Those 11 boards gave Abdurahman a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Keontae Lewis, who went 6 for 11 en route to 17 points.

Meanwhile, you're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out for Kearny on Tuesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that they blew Logan Memorial Education Campus out of the water with a 73-29 final score. The Komets have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 21 points or more this season.

Crawford has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 21-4 record this season. As for Kearny, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 18-7.

Crawford was able to grind out a solid victory over Kearny in their previous meeting back in January, winning 66-58. Will Crawford repeat their success, or does Kearny have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
