Basketball Recap: Grant Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Grant can now relate to. They fell to the Woodcreek Timberwolves 54-49. The Pacers were not able to make up for their loss to the Timberwolves from their previous meeting back in December of 2023.

Woodcreek's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Max VanLaningham, who dropped a triple-double with 14 points, 17 boards, and 11 blocks. That's the most rebounds VanLaningham has posted since back in December of 2024. Michael Kirby, Jr. was another key player, going 7-for-12 to rack up 20 points.

Grant's defeat dropped their record down to 20-10. As for Woodcreek, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-6 record this season.

Grant does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Woodcreek, they will face off against Rocklin at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Rocklin will roll in looking for their 13th straight victory, something Woodcreek surely won't give up without a fight.
