Basketball Game Preview: Mercy Career & Technical vs. The City School Lions

Mercy Career & Technical will challenge The City School Lions at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mercy Career & Technical is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.5 points per game this season.

Last Thursday, Mercy Career & Technical ended up a good deal behind New Foundations and lost 77-59. Mercy Career & Technical hasn't had much luck with New Foundations recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.

Mercy Career & Technical might have lost, but man, Taji Stewart was a machine: he posted 24 points. That's the most points Stewart has posted since back in January of 2024. Anthony Caple was another key player, putting up 14 points.

Meanwhile, The City School came into Monday's matchup having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They walked away with a 39-27 victory over Pine Forge Academy on Monday.

Mercy Career & Technical's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-3. As for The City School, their win ended a seven-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-14.

Everything went Mercy Career & Technical's way against The City School in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, as Mercy Career & Technical made off with a 53-30 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Mercy Career & Technical since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
