Basketball Recap: Lyons Comes Up Short

Lyons was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They were outmatched by the Southwestern Heights Mustangs and fell 48-12. The Lions were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 27-3.

It was another big night for Layla Pearl Kisner, who went 6-for-14 on her way to 17 points and three steals for Southwestern Heights. The matchup was Pearl Kisner's third in a row with at least 17 points. Another player making a difference was Juanita Puentes, who posted ten points and four steals.

Lyons' defeat dropped their record down to 2-19. As for Southwestern Heights, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 17-4.

Lyons does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Southwestern Heights, they will challenge Beloit at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Southwestern Heights' defense has only allowed 28.9 points per game this season, so Beloit's offense will have their work cut out for them.
